As the director of Windham Technical High School’s Advanced Manufacturing Department, Jim trains the next generation of manufacturers in both manual and CNC machining. During summer breaks from school, he partners with QVCC to help area companies train their employees in the basics of using CNC controls, programming for CNC turning and milling, setting-up and operating CNC lathes, plotting Cartesian Coordinates, and more.
As assistant director, Jodi has played an instrumental role in the development and operation of QVCC’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center. Using her knowledge of the math skills needed by entry level production workers, she developed a Math for Manufacturers boot-camp covering fractions, decimals, and basic trigonometry and geometry.
Since 1963, Dana has established himself as a premier tool & die maker. A former foreman at Ivanhoe Tool, he also spent ten years as an aircraft job shop machinist and ran his own shop for many years. By working as both engineer and machinist, Dana’s experience designing and machining plastic injection molds makes him an ideal instructor for customized training in blueprint reading, mathematics, and machining.
Following a career that began with an apprenticeship at Pratt & Whitney and ended with 27 years as shop foreman at Ivanhoe Tool, Walter is excited to help QVCC provide dynamic training to area manufacturers. He takes particular pride in teaching safe and efficient use of manual machines, resulting in minimal scrap rate.
