Lynda Petrides ’15
After working and raising her family for 30 years, Lynda decided to enroll at the College in 2013 to start focusing on her education in order to advance in the field of business office technology.
An English class was her first personal challenge. She knew that if she could succeed in this area, she would be unstoppable, and unstoppable is what she became.
With the help of a few QVCC faculty and staff members, Lynda thrived in her classes and in her extracurricular involvement on campus. She even became a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She is now in her senior year at Eastern Connecticut State University where she is completing her bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems. She is also working on a large research project with two professors, which involves a lot of writing; a skill that she honed during her very first class at QVCC.
Lynda worked hard to complete her classes and maintain straight A’s, but she credits her success to the late Professor Janet Hall. Together they built Lynda’s portfolio. Jan was an educator, a mentor and a friend to Lynda whose impact goes beyond the walls of the school. Even after her graduation in 2015, Lynda would still reach out to Jan for advice.
We know that Jan would be proud of where you are today!
